Here To Help

Having lived and raised our family in the area since 1997, we have accumulated a great amount of local knowledge. This has enabled us to provide our guests with the ‘Pilgrims Rest Tourist Information Pack’.

Our aim is to give our guests a personal and unique experience of Torbay and South Devon and act as your own tourist information hub. We have named above some of ours and our guests favourite attractions, beaches, eateries, walks and activities with so many more listed in our packs. Being in such a fantastic location gives you the opportunity to experience these for yourself as well as adding some of your own for future guests to enjoy.

Attractions, Beaches, Eating & Walks...

The major reason we can mention such a number is due to our philosophy of bringing the ‘Tourist Information’ centre concept to them. Having lived and raised our family in the area since 1997, we have accumulated a great amount of local knowledge, and uncovered some real gems. In each barn we provide our own documents on walks, beaches, man-made and natural attractions, eating in and eating out.

Attractions have details on zoos (Paignton, Pennywell, Shaldon, Miniature Pony), boat trips (speed or leisure with dolphin and seal spotting) & adventure parks (Creally & Dartmouth); wildlife centres, steam trains & leisure centres; golf, tennis, fishing & crabbing; theatres, museums & multi-screen cinemas; castles, national trust properties, historic buildings, parks and gardens; crazy golf, pitch & putt to go-karts.
Beaches cover up to 20, from coves to long stretches of sand; pram accessible or not; dog friendly or no; beach facilities or not.

Eating ‘out’ list up to 50, with 14 high-lighted from 15th Century ‘Thatched Tavern’ Inn next to beach & countryside; 17th Century ‘Cary Arms’ over looking harbour & bay; ‘Angels’ tearooms; Michelin starred to kids favourite such as Pizza Express; child or even dog friendly.

Eating ‘in’ guide covering local shop provision from ‘Crusty Loaf’ bakers, Paul’s Plaice Fish & Chips (best in the bay), Coop & Woks Cook-in; to home delivery of pizzas & curries.
Walks - with over 60, some starting from the barns; coastal or inland, pub, beach or village located.
Write ups on the surrounding area.

Due to our position in Torquay, we have easy access to all these. I don’t know why you are looking at coming to Pilgrims Rest but we are confident that whatever your reason our locality can facilitate in spades!
